PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Tritt|Henderson has established a structured program for the professional development of its construction attorneys. Exceptional attorneys must be given the tools and opportunities to succeed.

The professional development program, fondly referred to at Tritt|Henderson as “The Academy,” is highly structured and multifaceted. The Academy is a semi-monthly interactive class which includes required reading assignments ranging from treatises on construction law to articles from construction law journals and construction trade publications. These assignments are ultimately reduced to a quick reference manual on construction law.

The Academy also requires the attorney’s active involvement in the “education” of the construction industry by requiring public speaking engagements and the publication of articles on construction law. “Graduation Day” from The Academy is when an attorney achieves distinction from the Florida Bar as a Board Certified Construction Attorney.

Professional development is also achieved through the attorney’s active involvement in such construction trade associations as the National Association of Home Builders, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the Utility Contractors Association. Also, all construction attorneys must be active in the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry and The Florida Bar’s Construction Law Committee.

To that end, Tritt|Henderson believes that The Academy will develop and retain exceptional attorneys that are capable of succeeding in the often complex practice area of construction law.
