MENTORING
Tritt|Henderson has created a structured two-tiered mentorship program for its construction attorneys. Exceptional attorneys must be given the guidance to succeed.
Tritt|Henderson is a strong advocate for what it refers to as “case autonomy” for its attorneys. Case autonomy is the assignment of cases to an attorney based upon the complexity of the case, the amount in controversy and the workload of the attorney. The philosophy of case autonomy is that once a case is assigned to either an associate attorney or partner, that lawyer is given the primary responsibility to manage the matter.
The culture of case autonomy has given rise to a two-tiered mentorship program. The first tier of the mentorship program is the pairing of an associate attorney with a supervising attorney to provide the associate with assured access to his or her mentor to review work product and to be a sounding board for discussions relating to case strategy and the practice of construction law.
The second tier involves what has been named GUT (“Guaranteed Uninterrupted Time”) meetings. These are monthly one-on-one meetings with Arnold D. Tritt, Jr., the firm’s managing partner, designed to ensure that each attorney (partner and associate) has the necessary tools and opportunities to succeed at Tritt|Henderson.
